When you first log into the system, you will be taken to your "Home" page. It will have different categories of tasks. If there is a manuscript that needs your attention, there will be a red arrow next to a manuscript link.
*If there are no red arrows, then there are no manuscripts for you to evaluate at that time.
*You will also receive an email letting you know that there is a manuscript that requires your attention. If you access the assignment through the link in the email, you will be automatically signed in and can access all other manuscripts by going to the homepage.
*Awaiting Initial Consultation: new manuscripts and new revisions awaiting your assessment.
*Awaiting Reviewer Assignment: Decision without review or assign potential reviewers
*Contact Potential Reviewers: the contact reviewer stage. You can send multiple requests and use the “assign additional reviewers” task to add more to the contact list.
*Reviewer Collaboration: Manuscripts are back from review. Reviewers have seen each other’s author comments and have 48 hours to modify their reviews.
*Awaiting Associate Editor Decision: Associate editor will assess the reviews, draft decision letter, and submit comments to EiC.
*AE Review EiC Comments and AE Proof Decision Letter: EiC has returned the manuscript back to the Associate Editor and the Associate Editor can either send back to the EiC with additional comments or send decision letter to the author.
